What is RICE?

It’s a framework for prioritizing features based on four factors: Reach, Impact, Confidence, and Effort.

The RICE framework is a prioritization model that helps product teams evaluate ideas based on Reach, Impact, Confidence, and Effort. It provides a structured approach to decide which features to build first based on potential value vs. cost.

Each idea is scored numerically, and the final RICE score = (Reach × Impact × Confidence) ÷ Effort. This helps reduce bias and provides transparency when choosing among competing initiatives.
