Test Equipment Lead

Location: Sanand, Gujarat, India

Department: Test Engineering / Equipment

Role Overview

Responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of semiconductor test equipment. The role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, ensuring compliance, and enabling efficient, high-quality production operations.

Job Purpose

To develop, maintain, and enhance test equipment capability, ensuring reliable, accurate, and efficient semiconductor testing to support product quality and manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Performance & Maintenance

• Ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime of test equipment
• Monitor and improve uptime, OEE, throughput, and test efficiency
• Execute preventive maintenance and ensure proper calibration

Installation & Qualification

• Install, qualify, and commission new equipment and tools
• Ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards

Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Implement automation initiatives to enhance performance and productivity
• Drive equipment upgrades, modifications, and process improvements
• Analyze data to identify and implement improvement opportunities

Documentation & Compliance

• Develop and maintain SOPs, specifications, and maintenance records
• Ensure adherence to internal standards and regulatory requirements

Team Development & Collaboration

• Train and mentor engineers, technicians, and operators
• Collaborate with Product, Process, Manufacturing, and Quality teams
• Communicate equipment status, issues, and resolutions effectively

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure equipment readiness aligned with production milestones
• Maintain high uptime and reliability of test systems
• Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards
• Deliver accurate, repeatable, and consistent test performance
• Optimize equipment upgrade and maintenance costs
• Manage spare parts effectively
• Minimize production impact due to equipment downtime
• Drive equipment utilization, yield improvement, and operational efficiency

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Instrumentation Engineering
• 7–10 years of experience in test engineering, including leadership exposure

Key Skills

• Strong knowledge of semiconductor test equipment and processes
• Expertise in troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance optimization
• Experience in automation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and team leadership capabilities
