We are seeking a Head of Product Design to lead the end-to-end design and development of innovative educational products. This role requires a strong balance of design leadership, electronic hardware product development, and cross-functional collaboration. You will lead the team of industrial designers and work with cross-functional team members from software, electronics engineering, production and business development.
1. Lead and mentor the Product Design team across multiple new product development initiatives, leading the team for managing end to end:
2. form exploration, conceptualization, prototyping, testing, user-testing and costing, and productionising new products for DIY Electronics, Robotics, Coding, AI, ML, AR/VR, and Computational Thinking among other fields.
3. Define and co-develop Product Lineup and Strategy.
4. Drive continuous product improvement based on user feedback, manufacturability, scalability, cost optimization, and market appeal.
5. Execute and improve design processes, documentation, and design standards.
6. Ensure alignment between learning outcomes, user experience, marketing, and product feasibility.
1. A degree in Design or equivalent with at least 6 years of relevant managerial experience.
2. Strong communication and leadership skills.
3. Proficiency in the following is essential:
Design Thinking, Fabrication - MDF, Metal, Plastic IM, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and Keyshot.
4. Strong interest in STEM education, Robotics, AI/ML, and Emerging Technologies.
5. Should have a working knowledge of high-school level DIY electronics.
6. Above all, a learner's mindset.
