We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and development of HVAC products using Solid Edge CAD software. This role will involve concept design, detailed 3D modelling, drafting, prototyping, and support during manufacturing and testing phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new HVAC products and improve existing designs using Solid Edge.
- Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings for sheet metal and mechanical components.
- Hands-on experience in creating and managing Solid Edge Family Tables
– At Part level (e.g., variations of dimensions, features, configurations, sizes)
– At Assembly level (e.g., configurable assemblies, variant components, optional parts)
- Ability to generate multiple product variants using Family Table concepts instead of independent models
- Experience in:
– Parameter-driven modelling
– Feature suppression/activation
– Configurable BOM linked with Family Table
– Updating & maintaining Family Table with revision control
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance with relevant standards (ASHRAE, AMCA, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sales, and quality assurance to support product development and launch.
- Generate and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in HVAC or a related industry.
- Proficiency in Solid Edge for modeling, assembly, and drafting.
- Experience with sheet metal design, fabrication processes, and GD&T.
- Strong understanding of HVAC principles and industry standards.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering change control processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in designing diffusers, dampers, louvers, or other HVAC components using Solidedge.
- Knowledge of CFD or FEA tools for performance simulation.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and DFM/DFA principles.
