Job Title: Product Design Engineer
Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 4–5 years or more in Product Design & Development
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for conceptualization, design, and development of New products.
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD with proper GD&T application.
- Prepare and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure accuracy during design releases.
- Conduct design calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and apply engineering fundamentals for robust design.
- Define and execute product verification & validation plans, including functional, performance, and endurance testing.
- Develop test requirements and test protocols for validation and ensure compliance to standards.
- Perform Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and design for manufacturability (DFM) & design for assembly (DFA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, sourcing, quality, manufacturing) for smooth product development and launches.
- Provide technical support for prototype development, trials, and testing.
- Knowledge and hands-on exposure to manufacturing processes:
- Press tools, injection molding, extrusion, machining, sheet metal fabrication, die casting.
- Work on cost optimization, value engineering, and design improvements in existing products.
- Work on process standardization and documentation in compliance with IMS standards (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001).Ensure adherence to ISO documentation practices for design releases and engineering changes. Maintain and update design documentation, test reports, and revision control.
Key Skills Required
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Office.
- Good understanding of product design, prototyping, and validation processes.
- Knowledge of material selection (plastics, metals, composites) and their applications.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, drafting standards, and engineering documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deliver within timelines.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
