KRA:

1. Product Design & Development

• Design and develop new products, components, and assemblies as per project and customer requirements.
• Prepare detailed 2D/3D models, engineering drawings, and design layouts using softwares
• Ensure designs meet functional, performance, safety, and manufacturability standards.
• Minimize design modifications by ensuring accuracy and feasibility during initial design.

2. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, internal specifications, and regulatory norms.
• Conduct tolerance checks, design validation, and risk assessment.
• Support QA teams during internal audits and design reviews.

3. Documentation & Change Management

• Prepare and maintain Technical Documentation, BOM, design files, and revision history.
• Implement and manage Engineering Change Orders/Notes (ECO/ECN).
• Maintain accurate version control and design records.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with production, procurement, quality, project, and service teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Provide technical input during manufacturing, prototyping, testing, and installation.
• Participate in internal meetings and provide timely status updates.

5. Prototyping & Testing Support

• Support prototype development and ensure product validation through testing.
• Incorporate testing feedback and resolve design flaws.
• Ensure products achieve expected performance, durability, and reliability.

6. Innovation & Cost Optimization

• Explore new technologies, materials, and processes to improve product performance.
• Recommend and implement cost-saving ideas in product design and manufacturing.
• Continuously enhance product usability, quality, and efficiency through design improvements.

7. Project Execution & Timeliness

• Deliver design outputs within defined project timelines.
• High involvement in project planning, design reviews, and milestone achievement.
• Ensure timely closure of design activities aligned with project schedules.

8. Customer Support (Internal/External)

• Participate in customer discussions and provide design-related clarifications.
• Support customization requirements and solution design for specific client needs.
• Address customer feedback and ensure design issues are resolved effectively.

9. Process Adherence

• Follow company SOPs related to design, documentation, quality, and safety.
• Maintain design standards, templates, and processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely updating of SAP/ERP/PLM data (if applicable).

10. Training & Skill Development

• Upgrade knowledge in CAD tools, materials, design principles, and industry developments.
• Attend internal/external technical training programs.
• Apply new skills and technologies in ongoing design activities.

Skills Required:

• Technical
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or similar)
• 3D modelling & 2D drafting
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerances
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, fabrication, machining, plastics, etc.)
• BOM preparation and engineering documentation
• Familiarity with FEA/Simulation tools (optional but preferred)
• Knowledge of materials and material selection
• Design validation, prototyping, and testing understanding
• Basic knowledge of electrical/mechanical integration (if applicable)
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
• Ability to analyze design problems and generate workable solutions
• Root-cause analysis for design issues
