Overview:
The commercial and industrial BESS Product Manager owns the product vision, roadmap and lifecycle for Battery Energy Storage Systems (aka BESS 50KWh to 5 MWh). The role spans market analysis, technical definition, new product development, system architecture, EMS/PCS integration, safety compliance and commercial success.
You will work closely with supply chain, EPC partners, C&I Customers to ensure successful deployment of C&I energy storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define Product Strategy for C&I BESS (AC Coupled, DC Coupled and Hybrid ESS)
- Build the long-term roadmap for containerized BESS (50KWh 5MWh) and PCS Platforms.
- Define competitive differentiation, in cost, safety, energy density and EMS digital integration
- Create PRDs and System Specifications for Battery Packs, racks and container architecture PCS/Inverter Specifications, HVAC, Fire, thermal Management, PCS and EMS platform.
- Lead product introductions, file trials and pilot developments
- Train internal teams (Sales, Service & EPC Partners)
- Track field performance using data analytics and customer feedback (Enable the service Team)
- Lead suppliers technical engagement and commercials together with procurement teams
- Track global storage curves, chemistry innovation and competitive positioning
- Lead Next gen design initiatives (liquid cooling upgrades. Modular PCS, Sodium Ion readiness)
Desired Experience & Skills:
- Experience with containerized BESS (50KWh to 5MWh)
- Familiarity with BESS applications, including Peak Shaving and Energy Arbitrage.
- Hands on in modelling BESS project TCO, & preparation of technical proposals.
- Good ESS industry connects (EPCs, SIs, C&I Customers and key suppliers) are preferred.
- Good in stakeholder management and effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven experience with supplier technical evaluation across BESS system value chain.
