Organizations everywhere struggle under the crushing costs and complexities of “solutions” that promise to simplify their lives. To create a better experience for their customers and employees. To help them grow. Software is a choice that can make or break a business. Create better or worse experiences. Propel or throttle growth. Business software has become a blocker instead of ways to get work done.
At Freshworks, we build uncomplicated service software that delivers exceptional customer and employee experiences. Our enterprise-grade solutions are powerful, yet easy to use, and quick to deliver results. Our people-first approach to AI eliminates friction, making employees more effective and organizations more productive. Over 72,000 companies, including Bridgestone, New Balance, Nucor, S&P Global, and Sony Music, trust Freshworks’ customer experience (CX) and employee experience (EX) software to fuel customer loyalty and service efficiency. And, over 4,500 Freshworks employees make this possible, all around the world.
At Freshworks, quality isn’t a checkpoint—it’s part of our engineering DNA. As a

As a Senior Software Engineer in Test, you will move beyond simply finding bugs to fundamentally shaping how we build and ship software. Your work will directly result in:
You will ensure that products used by thousands of users every day remain highly reliable, allowing us to ship features fast without breaking things.
By acting as the technical owner of our automation strategy, you will transform testing from a mere "checkpoint" into a core part of our engineering DNA.
You will build quality gates directly into the SDLC, catching vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks early in the development lifecycle rather than at the end.
By building robust, scalable automation frameworks (UI, API, and microservices) and integrating them seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines, you will give developers the ultimate confidence to deploy rapidly and safely.
You will drastically improve automation ROI, test stability, and coverage, leaving a lasting mark on our overall system resilience and engineering standards.
Strong grasp of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) with the ability to solve algorithmic problems, optimize for time/space complexity, and apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles to write clean, extensible automation code.
Experience designing highly scalable test architectures and building reusable automation frameworks from scratch.
Deep expertise in Selenium (Webdrivers, Xpath, CSS Selectors), Postman, or similar tools for comprehensive UI and API automation.
Hands-on experience with JMeter (or similar tools) to drive performance, load, and cross-browser testing initiatives.
Deep understanding of STLC, Test Management, Test Strategy, Test Coverage, and release processes (covering functional, regression, and non-functional testing).
Competence in performing comprehensive, exploratory manual tests when necessary, balancing automated and manual strategies.
Proven experience partnering with Dev and DevOps teams to seamlessly integrate automation suites and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
Strong defect analysis and debugging skills to trace issues and identify root causes across complex, distributed microservices architectures.
Ability to clearly articulate thought processes, test strategies, and problem-solving approaches to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A hands-on, high-standards mindset with a strong bias for documentation, teamwork, and driving cross-functional quality initiatives.
