About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer who can architect, build, and scale robust backend systems that power intelligent conversations, real-time features, and deep personalization. You ll work closely with product, design, and AI teams to ship user-facing features, optimize systems, and push the boundaries of what s possible in an AI-first consumer app.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure backend services and APIs
- Work with MERN stack and/or other modern BaaS setups
- Collaborate with frontend, AI, and product teams to deliver end-to-end features
- Build systems for chat history, user profiling, real-time messaging, and analytics
- Optimize performance, data usage, and reliability of backend infrastructure
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and error tracking
- Build highly available and high-performance systems in a fast-growing production environment
- Write clean, modular, well-tested code and conduct code reviews
Requirements
- 2 3 years of experience in backend engineering roles, ideally in fast-paced product teams
- Proficiency with MongoDB, Firebase, or other NoSQL databases
- Solid understanding of API design, authentication, and access control mechanisms
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or similar platforms)
- Hands-on experience working in CI/CD environments with Git
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills
- Awareness and application of SOLID principles and modern backend architecture best practices
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, shipping iteratively and rapidly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain technical decisions clearly
Good to Have
- Strong experience with Node.js (Express or Nest.js)
- Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, or chat-based AI architectures
- Prior experience in high-growth consumer tech or chat-based apps
- Interest in astrology, psychology, or wellness domains
