Role Overview
We are looking for a
UI/UX Designer
to join our Surat-based product team and help elevate the customer experience across web and mobile touchpoints. As a
UI/UX Designer at GEMGEM
, you will be responsible for designing intuitive, high-quality digital experiences that align user needs with business goals. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Business teams to translate complex requirements into elegant, user-first interfaces. This role requires strong
UX thinking, refined visual design skills, and execution discipline
to deliver seamless, consistent experiences across our e-commerce and marketplace journeys.
Key Responsibilities
User Experience & Research
- Apply user-centered design principles across all product flows, including discovery, listing, checkout, and post-purchase journeys.
- Conduct and interpret user research, usability testing, journey mapping, and persona development.
- Translate insights into actionable design improvements that enhance usability and conversion.
UI Design & Prototyping
- Design clean, modern, and intuitive interfaces aligned with GEMGEMs premium brand identity.
- Create wireframes, interaction flows, and high-fidelity prototypes using tools such as Figma.
- Ensure responsive, mobile-first design consistency across devices and platforms.
Collaboration & Execution
- Work closely with Product Managers and Developers to translate requirements into functional designs.
- Clearly communicate design rationale and incorporate feedback from cross-functional stakeholders.
- Support implementation by collaborating during the handoff and QA stages.
Design Systems & Quality
- Contribute to and maintain design systems, components, and style guides.
- Ensure consistency, accessibility, and usability standards across all design outputs.
- Iterate designs based on feedback, data, and evolving product needs.
Core Competencies & Expectations
Design & Technical Expertise
- Strong proficiency in UI/UX design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or similar).
- Solid understanding of responsive design, usability heuristics, and interaction design.
- Experience designing for e-commerce or marketplace platforms is a strong advantage.
Communication & Collaboration
- Ability to clearly articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional, fast-paced environments.
- Open to feedback and capable of iterative improvement.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Design, Fine Arts, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of professional UI/UX design experience (e-commerce, marketplace, or consumer tech preferred).
- Strong portfolio showcasing UX thinking, visual design quality, and problem-solving ability.
- Experience with responsive and adaptive interface design.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills.
